Shrine.
Last week we had to say goodbye to the shrine we made for Grayson Perry Late, as Grace's studio was being cleared for the degree show to go up and we have no room left in our flat!
We're going to collaborate on another project when we're our summer shows have finished which is exciting!.

Some photos I took a few weeks ago at the Cerith Wyn Evans exhibition.
These are beautiful installations that radiate intense and heat and light into the gallery.

CSM Work in Progress Show/ Private View.
Last week we had our Third Year Illustration Work in Progress Show at Blackall Studios which was a huge success! The private view night was sponsored by the amazing Think-Work-Play and Pernod Absinthe who plied our guests with cocktails from their Absinthe fountain and punch bowls. You can check them out here.
I exhibited some Bauhaus collages and some new test screen prints that I'll be photographing properly next week. A massive thank you to everyone who came and to Lerayne for the photos of the private view.

Workshops.
To coincide with Women's History Month, I've been running a series of print workshops at The October Gallery for primary school children. It was my first experience of doing anything like this and although I found it daunting I really enjoyed doing it and learnt a lot in the process. I devised a two hour workshop that involved the children exploring the current exhibition by Laila Shawa and then creating their own visual response to the show's themes and ideas, using collage and simple screen printing methods. They made some really beautiful work!
As a close to the month, the gallery will be holding a symposium this weekend with guest speakers including Zawe Ashton, Benjamin Zephaniah and Darter Collective. More information here.

Sketchbook.
A few pages from my messier sketchbook... I'm normally very precious with these so I'm trying to use this book in a much freer way and not worry too much about what goes into it. I've been using a lot more colour than I usually would, and brighter colours too. Having said this, I've also started an online documentation of my inspiration which is way more in keeping with my usual muted colour palette. I'm aware its all a bit trendy...

New Beginnings.
One of my collages is in the new exhibition 'New Beginnings' at the Art Against Knifes Gallery in The Boxpark. The show runs until the 29th February so go see!
Lo-Fi Zines.
Me and Tris made a super simple zine using some of the imagery we've been making over the last few months. They are photocopied in black and white onto newsprint with coloured vinyl stickers on the front and back covers.
Illustration Sale.
Last Thursday we held an Illustration Sale at school to raise money for our Work In Progress Show in March. I created some 'Souvenir' themed screen prints with Caspar which you can see in the bottom photo. They were a follow on from the work we created for the CSM Pop Up Shop last summer which you can see here. For this sale we also made cards, gift tags and Hawaiian badges!
Collectively we made over £400 and will be holding another sale at the end of the month!

Private View.
Some pictures from Thursday night! It was too busy to take any decent photos of the work so we'll be heading over next week to do it properly.
This is the A1 piece we made for the back wall.
