Workshops.
To coincide with Women's History Month, I've been running a series of print workshops at The October Gallery for primary school children. It was my first experience of doing anything like this and although I found it daunting I really enjoyed doing it and learnt a lot in the process. I devised a two hour workshop that involved the children exploring the current exhibition by Laila Shawa and then creating their own visual response to the show's themes and ideas, using collage and simple screen printing methods. They made some really beautiful work!
As a close to the month, the gallery will be holding a symposium this weekend with guest speakers including Zawe Ashton, Benjamin Zephaniah and Darter Collective. More information here.

Sketchbook.
A few pages from my messier sketchbook... I'm normally very precious with these so I'm trying to use this book in a much freer way and not worry too much about what goes into it. I've been using a lot more colour than I usually would, and brighter colours too. Having said this, I've also started an online documentation of my inspiration which is way more in keeping with my usual muted colour palette. I'm aware its all a bit trendy...

Tapped and Packed.
Today I spent the day with Tristram hanging our work in Tapped and Packed in Fitzrovia. We've been working on some new collages together and also some individual pieces too. The top image is taken from one of my collages using the textures from the screen prints we created back in October and the bottom two are Tristram's digital collages.

Collage.
One of the collages I've made for the new Bea's of Bloomsbury branch on Kings Road. After a very busy summer, myself and Beth have very nearly finished the new shop and we're very excited about the grand opening on 14th October!

Burger.
This is a snapshot image from a poster and zine I'm making in collaboration with Grace Helmer for UAL Platform and the London Design Festival. It's a burger made from photocopies of St Pauls. I've also made an ice cream using images of St Brides Church which I'll post soon. Yum.
